Thandavarayapuram Ramaswami Pachamuthu (better known as T. R. Pachamuthu) is an Indian academic best known as the founder and chancellor of SRM University.[1] He comes from the Tamil Nadu community of Parkavakulam.[2] He is also the founder of the political party - Indiya Jananayaka Katchi.

Honours

On 19 February 2009, Pachamuthu was awarded with an honourary doctorate (honoris causa) from Birmingham City University for his work in the field of "engineering and technology education".[3] Pachamuthu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics,[2][4] and is a qualified chartered engineer.[2] Pachamuthu is an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers.[5]
